Abbotts College is synonymous with academic excellence and at no time is this more evident than at the release of the Matric results every year.  Once again, the Matric group of 2012 did not disappoint.

In 2012 604 Abbotts candidates wrote the National Senior Certificate and achieved a total of 656 distinctions.  This translates to 1.1 distinctions per candidate.  A 100% pass rate was achieved and 60% of candidates achieved a Bachelor’s Degree Pass.

Kyle Benkenstein from Abbotts College Pretoria achieved the most distinctions with 9 in total.

Abbotts College Pretoria was given fourth place for the Non-Subsidised (Independent) School in Gauteng by the Gauteng Department of Education followed by Abbotts College Northcliff in fifth place.  To date, no announcements have been made by the Western Cape Department of Education.

“I am incredibly proud of the class of 2012,” said Greg Fillmore, GM of Abbotts College.  “These exceptional results are testimony to the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers and is proof of the success of our unique approach to teaching and learning.”

The top students for each Abbotts College and overall in the ADvTECH Schools Division will be announced on the 18th of January at the Annual ADvTECH Schools Division Top Achievers Function in Sandton.
