I am a Student

Are you a Student?

How can we help you?

Feeling Misunderstood?

  • Abbots is an environment that is structured to get the very best academic results from everyone.

    • You may have an active and enquiring mind that enjoys challenging theory to understand and apply your knowledge.

    • You may crave discussion and do not feel that the traditional classroom allows you the opportunity to express your opinion.

    • You might struggle to make yourself heard in a big class full of dominant personalities.

    • You might have had a tough time ‘fitting in’ because you stand out.

    Practical help

    • You will have access to teachers after school hours. Asking questions is encouraged – it shows us you are interested in learning and improving.

    • Supported homework sessions. Work independently, but in a supportive environment, at an allocated time.

    • An allocated mentor to offer guidance and assistance throughout.

A happy learner is a successful learner

    • Self-expression is what helps you become a better learner and a better person.

    • You will be respected and encouraged – never judged.

    Confidence is power

    • With the right support system, you will see how your results will improve, and with that comes confidence.

    • Confidence develops the self-belief that means your potential truly has no limits.

Feeling Frustrated?

  • Abbotts is a structured environment where any individual can play to their strengths and interests to achieve the best overall academic success and develop strong foundations for the future.

    Focus on strengths

    • Students choose from a broad range of subjects and are not forced to take subjects that aren’t in their best interests.

    • We don’t force you into the ‘agenda’ of the school. We don’t prescribe sports or other extra-curricular activities.

    • No one is judging you for not being good at everything. Fish swim brilliantly – but they are terrible at climbing trees.

    Conquer weaknesses

    • Our class sizes are significantly smaller than traditional schools – giving you the opportunity for dedicated and focused learning with individual dialogue and answers to your questions.

    • Frequent assessment helps students work toward gradual and continued improvement.

    • We can catch any shortfall or troublesome area early, so challenges are not left to escalate.

    Be proud

    • We do not compare you to anyone else.

    • Take satisfaction in what you are achieving and the improvements you can see.

    • Use it and build on it. The sky is the limit when you have the right support.

Feeling Unfulfilled?

  • You might have a perfectly adequate matric grade projection but, you know you can do better with the right environment and more direction.

Or you may want to get into a specific course of a specific higher education institution that is highly competitive and for which you need personalised coaching to make the cut.

    Your life. Your choices.

    • Our structured learning methods will ensure you achieve to the best of your ability in your chosen subjects. With the input from your mentor and subject teachers, you can choose your goals and desired outcomes.

    Empowered

    • The feeling of being in control of your own destiny is liberating.

    • With choice comes responsibility, and with responsibility comes a sense of self.

Want to improve your future?

  • The marks you are getting now does not reflect on your ability to achieve greater academic excellence in future.

Our tools and methodology have been proven time and time again. We get results. Given the right direction, with your commitment and our support, you can improve significantly on your current trajectory towards Matric and your future opportunities.

    Better grades

    • Our supervised homework sessions, extra lessons, and frequent assessments mean we can guarantee academic success. You will have the opportunity to further your education or qualify for a better starting position when you leave us.

    One-on-one support, understanding & motivation

    • The whole learning experience is geared to be altogether more positive, rewarding, and motivating than at regular schools. You will be allocated a personal mentor to guide, assist, and support you along the journey to success. These personal relationships become important to our students and many old students remain close friends with their mentors after leaving school.

Want to release your full potential?

  • Abbotts is not just for learners who are struggling to complete Matric or are failing their grades.

Abbotts gives hundreds of students a second chance every year to upgrade their original matric by redoing a select number of subjects or by redoing them all. We have many Grade 12 part-time students who are then able to fine-tune their results and their opportunities. Please note that registration for Grade 12 must take place very early every year, so contact us to confirm the due date for registrations.

    Conversion programs

Home study or unconventional programs such as the Cambridge system are often not accepted by some tertiary institutions. Abbotts offers an efficient and targeted conversion program to tick all the boxes required to open your full choice of options. Talk to us about the steps necessary to get you on the path towards obtaining a National Senior Certificate.

Pride in being your best self

Do not settle for just getting by. With the right and targeted mentorship, you can be guided towards reaching your goals and dreams.

We help young people find their voice

At Abbotts, we don’t focus on clothing; our focus is on academics. This allows for some freedom in terms of self-expression. Teaching our students to respect themselves and the people around them is by far a more important lesson than doing uniform checks. When the first thing a student experiences when walking into a class is ridicule regarding their hair or uniform, the learning environment is tainted and not conducive to productivity. Resentment is fostered by both the teacher and the student. We simply don’t do that here. We DO have rules and a code of conduct. But our focus is on teaching students to take responsibility as a young adult. We teach them to make better choices, not to follow commands.

Your options now:

• Change from your current school and transfer to Abbotts (we enroll all year

• Redo and upgrade your Matric, either to gain a pass or to improve the grade
